About Emma…
Hi, I’m Emma. I wanted to use this page to share a little more about me and the story behind why I do this work.
I’m a mum of two wonderful children and family has always been at the heart of everything I do. I come from a big, wonderfully chaotic family and although we’re a little scattered these days, we’re still incredibly close.
Over the last few years I’ve experienced the loss of several people I loved dearly. Like many families, we’ve faced unexpected goodbyes, heartbreak and difficult moments. But alongside the sadness came something else… stories, laughter and memories that still make us smile today.
What I remember most about those times were the funerals that truly reflected the person we were there to celebrate, the services that captured their personality, their quirks, their passions, and the life they lived. Those are the moments that brought comfort and helped us find a little peace.
So, how did I get here? After taking some time to heal, reaching my mid-40s, and deciding it was time for a new adventure, I realised I wanted to spend my time doing what I’ve always loved most: connecting with people. Becoming a funeral celebrant felt like a natural next step, a way to turn everything I’d learned into something that could help others.

This accreditation reflects a thorough grounding in funeral procedures, ceremony writing and delivering services with genuine care and professionalism.
Obitus Certified
Emma is also Obitus trained and certified in the technical audio-visual side of funeral services. From background music and video tributes to live webcasting.
This means she’s equipped to help every technical detail run smoothly, so families can focus on the service itself rather than worrying about the logistics.
Some years ago, my mum passed away and the Butterfly Volunteer Service supported me and my family through that loss. I was later invited to speak with them about that experience, the conversation is above. It says more about where this journey into celebrancy began than words alone ever could.
